Personal

Legal services to put a person's affairs in order; estate & tax planning, wills, trusts, probate, lasting powers of attorney & court of protection.

The personal team is headed up by partners Tracey Murray and Chris Thompson supported by solicitor Fiona Grogan.

We provide practical and straightforward inheritance advice with a personal touch. We offer estate planning, trust, wills and probate services. We have acted as Executors of wills for over 100 years and have accumulated a wealth of experience in this area of law. We are also able to provide advice in relation to Care Home fees.

Property

Residential & commercial property services to buy, sell, remortgage, transfer & lease.

The property team is headed up by partner Julie Farrell-Knowles supported by conveyancers Gillian Fawcett and Katherine Wylam.

 

A quality service at a realistic price is our bottom line. We benefit from the latest tools in information technology whilst maintaining the “personal touch” which keeps our clients returning time and again. We are approved members of the Law Society ‘Conveyancing Quality Scheme’ which means that we meet the high standards the Law Society sets to ensure that we give our clients a professional and quality conveyancing service.

Family

Family law services including divorce, separation, finance, children & child care law.

Solicitors Julie Nicholson and Mary Dargue are joint heads of our family team supported by solicitor Abigail Pitt and consultants Susan Johnson and Guy Goodings.

We understand that family problems can often be the most upsetting and stressful for people to deal with. We are an experienced and highly qualified team. Julie Nicholson has been a member of the Law Society Advanced Family panel since 2004. Susan Johnson is a member of the Law Society Family panel and an accredited Resolution specialist whilst Mary Dargue is a member of the Law Society Children Law panel. We aim to be sensitive and caring, whilst achieving the best possible outcome for our clients. We offer a range of funding options including Legal Aid and fixed fee interviews as well as private client work.

Accreditations

The firm as a whole and several of our solicitors have gained accreditations from The Law Society recognising the quality and expertise of their work.

Alderson Law LLP holds the Lexcel accreditation for quality management of the firm, as well as awards for conveyancing, wills & inheritance and family law.

In addition to this Julie Nicholson holds an Advanced Family Law accreditation recognising her expertise in family law. Mary Dargue holds a Children Law accreditation for her work in children's cases. Fiona Grogan holds a STEP (The Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners) award for her work with clients and their estates.

All of these help to illustrate the commitment we have to providing the best service we possibly can to our clients and for you to be able to feel confident in choosing Alderson Law LLP as your solicitors.

Cost

In  order to be transparent about our pricing our hourly charging rates will be discussed with you at your initial consultation and are published in our Terms and Conditions. Fee estimates and details of  fixed fee and other funding Agreements will also be included in the letter we send you confirming your instructions to us, together with information relating to the qualifications and experience of the Person(s) who will be handling your case. Further details and examples of costs for each of our services can be found here .

Complaints

Our Complaints Handling Procedure tells you how we will deal with your complaint and how long it is likely to take. It also provides important information about what you can do if you are not happy with the way in which we are dealing with your complaint, or about our final decision.

Our Designated Complaints Handler is Partner Tracey Murray. Tracey is based at our Morpeth office and can be contacted via email at traceymurray@aldersonlaw.co.uk .
