Penny graduated from Northumbria University before training with Alderson Law in 2006. She quickly qualified as a duty solicitor in 2009 before going on to qualify as a Higher Court Advocate in 2017.
Penny regularly practises in the Crown Court, representing clients in a range of offences from large scale drug conspiracies to assaults and burglary. Penny has secured some excellent results for clients in this court. She has gained experience and has a particular interest in defending sensitive sexual allegations, particularly those made against young defendants who have faced proceedings before the Youth Court.
Penny has also represented several soldiers facing military actions. She has represented those in the armed forces who have faced questioning by the military police and those who have faced trial before a court-martial.
